A Reflection for May’s Mental Health Awareness Month

May is Mental Health Awareness Month. 💚🎗️
And if I’m honest, I’ve known the stretch between belief and unbelief more intimately than I ever wanted to.
Anxiety doesn’t ask for your theology.
It just shows up—uninvited, unrelenting—making peace feel far off and faith feel small.
For a long time, I thought God was disappointed in my doubt.
But lately, He’s been showing me something different:
Faith is not a leap into nothingness —
it’s a step onto a bridge built by Someone else.
The space between belief and unbelief isn’t a chasm we cross by force of will.
It’s the cross.

A bridge that spans our weakness with His mercy, not our certainty.

We aren’t saved by how tightly we hold on to Him,
but by how tightly He holds on to us.
“I do believe; help me overcome my unbelief.” — Mark 9:24
That prayer has become my companion.

And it shaped the heart behind HELD.

Not a fix.
Not a formula.
But Scripture and soul care for those 4AM moments when the mind won’t stop and the heart won’t settle.
So if your faith feels fragile right now…
You’re not failing.
You’re just on the bridge.

And Jesus is still with you in the crossing.
